Biden plans to announce 30-day coverage for Mississippi's emergency bills following the terrible storms.
President Biden goes to areas hit by tornadoes. Mississippi: On Friday, President Joe Biden will go to Mississippi to look at the damage caused by the deadly tornadoes that killed more than 20 people and destroyed a lot of buildings.
Along with First Lady Jill Biden, they will visit the areas affected by the disaster in Rolling Fork and meet with local and state officials, first responders, and people who have been affected by the disaster.
Biden says that the federal government will pay for all of the recovery work:
The federal government has promised to pay for all of the state's emergency measures for the next 30 days. This includes costs like removing debris, running shelters, and paying first responders for working extra hours.
Biden will also announce that FEMA will open disaster recovery centres in four counties that were hit by storms.
During their trip, the Bidens will be joined by Governor Tate Reeves of Mississippi, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, Representative Bennie Thompson, Rolling Fork Mayor Eldridge Walker, and other officials.
President Biden had already declared a state of emergency to help with the cleanup and recovery in Mississippi. This gave federal money to several counties that were affected.
