Famous singer Dauda Adamu Abdullahi Kahutu (Rarara) has been arraigned before the Islamic High Court in Rijiriya Zaki area of Kano for a sum of ten million three hundred thousand naira (N10.3m).
A source told Majiyar Focus News Hausa, a film magazine that a man named Muhammad Ma'aji filed a complaint against the singer over the money he owed him.
Maaji told the court that there was a case between him and Rarara a few months ago, but now he has no other option to get his rights except through the legal system.
He said that he went through the process of reconciliation with Rarara to give him his money since the deal they made was not possible, but the singer refused to pay him.
The spokesman of the High Islamic Courts of Kano State, Malam Muzammil Ado Fagge, explained how Rarara kept playing hide and seek with the court messenger so that he would not be issued a summons.
He said: "This is a case that Muhammad Ma'aji filed against Rarara, and it is a case that there is a deal with him up to 10 million naira and he tried to give him the money but he refused.
"Therefore, we have used Law and Order No. 9, 2021 which states that if a person is requested to be issued a summons without being seen, social media can be used to notify him or stick him in his house.
"This musician is playing hide and seek with our officer to give him the warrant but he refuses to let them meet, that's why we asked his neighbor and witnesses to stick him in his house on Zoo Road , to ensure compliance with the law in delivering him the message of the court."
Mr. Muzammil said that the case will be heard on next Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the court presided over by Justice Halhaltul Khuza'i Zakariya.
