Imams are forbidden to read the Qur'an from mobile phones during night prayers
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Religious Affairs of Kuwait has prohibited the imams from reading the Qur'an from their mobile phones during the night prayers of the month of Ramadan.
Al Rai newspaper reported that the information is contained in a statement signed by the junior minister in charge of mosques, Salah Al Shilahi.
The announcement encouraged the imams to use their memorization of the Qur'an during Tarawih and Tahajjud prayers, as they (the imams) are an example to the rest of the community.
She added that every imam should study properly before the prayer instead of reading from the phone.
