In Kano, two persons have been detained on suspicion of killing a pregnant woman.
The body of a 20-year-old pregnant lady who had been left on the side of the road in Anadariya village in Bebeji local government has been found, according to the police in Kano state in northern Nigeria.
Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the state police force's spokesperson, announced on his Facebook page that two suspects in the crime had been taken into custody.
He said that the arrest was the result of a complaint made by locals, which prompted Mamman Dauda, the state police commissioner, to deploy his personnel to the scene.
Theresa Yakubu's name was made public by the command, and the spokesman said that her boyfriend and his buddy are thought to have killed her.
After all attempts to have the pregnancy terminated failed, the deceased's boyfriend and a friend planned to kill her, according to his confession to the crime.
The police commissioner expressed his condolences to the deceased's family and told the public that they would do everything in their power to secure justice.
Also, he pleaded with the locals to come forward with any information that could help identify and apprehend any participants in the crime.
