Kano will open the first game of this year's NLO season.
The organizers of the second level professional league in the country, Nationwide League One (NLO), have confirmed Kano state as the host city for the 2022/23 season.
The chief media officer of the national league, Abdulgafar Oladimeji, said this on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in Kano when he met with the media.
The new media officer of NLO, said that the competition will start on May 4th in the centers of the country allocated to the 8 zones, where Kano state has two groups that will compete in the competition at the Sani fields. Abacha in Kofar Mata and Kano in Sabongari.
Some of the centers where the competition will be held include Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, Zaria Stadium, Pantami Stadium in Gombe State and Karkanda Stadium in Katsina, as well as Giginya Stadium in Sokoto and Kontagora Stadium in the state. Niger including Lafia in Nassarawa state and August 04 in Damaturu in Yobe state.
The first match will start between the Kano Pillars youth football team that is Junior Kano Pillars, and their opponent Kwankwasiyya FC, the former Samba Kurna team.
