Nigerian bandits killed a traditional leader, according to reports.


A traditional leader was killed by kidnappers in Aghara town, Kabba-Bunu local government, Kogi state in north-central Nigeria.



According to reports, the robbers held the prince by the name of David Obadofin for 12 days after they had abducted him.


A member of the prince's family said that the kidnappers tortured him to death before causing his death.


Newspaper Daily TrustAccording to a source in Nigeria, the prince was abducted and released along with a young woman by the name of Temidayo Elewa after the kidnappers demanded a ransom of two million naira.


The prince reportedly passed away before the ransom was paid.


On Easter Sunday, about 11 p.m., the robbers kidnapped the prince—a wealthy kashu farmer—along with Elewa from his home in Aghara and held them for ransom in exchange for 60 million naira.
