The APC Kano branch has filed a case before the Kano Governorship Election Court, challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare Abba Kabir Yusuf of the NNPP as the winner of the election held in the state in March 18, 2023.
In a 5-part lawsuit filed last Sunday evening, the plaintiff (APC) alleges that Abba Kabir Yusuf is not qualified to run for office because he is not on the list of members of the NNPP. was sent to INEC.
The APC party also alleged that the NNPP did not win the election with the majority of halal votes, saying that some of the votes cast for them were fake, and if they were removed from the votes cast by the NNPP APC will get more votes.
Kadaura24 Justice Watch News reported that in the lawsuit, APC also alleged that the Kano State Electoral Commissioner (REC) made a mistake in declaring Abba Yusuf as the winner of the election, saying that the margin of votes found not more than the canceled votes, as she explained that it should be said that the election was not completed.
The petitioner is asking the court to declare that the NNPP has no candidate because Abba Kabir Yusuf is not on the list of voters who submitted to INEC during the election, asking the court to declare Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as the candidate won the election, or declared the APC as the winner of the election that got the most votes if the fake votes cast for the NNPP were removed.
In the same way, the petitioner requested the Court to declare the election as incomplete, alleging that the gap is not equal to the number of canceled votes.
The APC has sued Abba Kabiru Yusuf, the NNPP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the law of the court, the defendants have 21 days to respond to the request after the court has acted on them.
