The biggest oil firm in Nigeria, NNPC, claims that it is not aware of the N20 billion loss caused by corruption.
According to the firm's spokeswoman, Garba Deen Muhammad, the company is unaware of the claim made by the online news outlet Sahara Reporters that the company has paid certain specialists for forging with N20 billion.
The declaration read, "It is regretful that the media has leveled such a serious charge without considering the ramifications. It's a flagrant lie to say that N20 billion was wasted."
According to NNPC, PPMC has disputed the claim made by the Ogun government regarding the taxes it owes to the company.
Eventually, the Ogun government filed a court case, but the NNPC vowed to back up its claims.
