WHO recommends doubling investments to end malaria?

In order to completely eradicate malaria, the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged nations to increase their financial support for the effort.

According to the WHO, Africa accounted for 96% of the disease's 619,000 fatalities in 2021.

Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, the director of the organization in charge of Africa, stated in her statement on World Malaria Day that malaria is spreading six to twenty times quicker than other diseases in regions where the disease is more prevalent.

Every year on April 25, the United Nations works to improve the methods for battling malaria around the world.

According to Dr. Moeti, between 2000 and 2021, fewer Africans will die from the disease as a result of the measures performed.

At least 28 African nations, according to her, have shown interest in implementing the malaria vaccine.
