Zulum Launched the Construction of the Second Sky Bridge in Borno
Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has launched the construction of the second flyover at the Borno Express Junction in the state capital, Maiduguri.
If it can be recalled, Governor Zulum built the first flyover in Borno in the Customs area in Gamboru Market, which was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in December 2021.
The second bridge will bypass the Borno Expressway which has a T-junction, along with roads that connect the three main parts of Maiduguri to the International Airport, the city stadium and Kano Railway Station, and the center the city near the State Secretariat which is located in the post office (Post Office) and the Monday Market, among others.
During the launch of the project, Governor Zulum assured the contractors that, "God willing, we, the Borno State Government, will ensure the release of the money as it should be."
"I also advise you to ensure that you carry out effective work and, God willing, this is the next step in improving the lives of the future nation." We will provide more democracy for the people of Borno," the Governor.
A Chinese company called EEC was awarded the contract for the construction of the bridge at a cost of 5.8 billion Naira.
The state commissioner for works, Isa Garba Haladu signed the contract on behalf of the state government while the representative of the EEC company signed on behalf of the Chinese company.
The governor has given the company a deadline of the end of this year 2023 to complete the project.
