10 Important Facts About Dangote Oil Refinery

In 2017, the construction of the Dangote Oil Refinery, which is the largest in Africa, began.

On May 22, 2023, a week before President Muhammadu's abdication, he inaugurated the refinery, which was built by Africa's richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, at a cost of 19 billion dollars (8.7 trillion Naira).

Here are 12 things you should know about the filter in a nutshell:

It has a daily production capacity of 650,000 barrels.

It is the largest of its kind (producing 650,000 barrels in one place) in the world.

National Petroleum Corporation (NNPCL) has a 20% stake in the refinery.

The refined oil it will produce will be able to meet the needs of Nigeria as a whole.

It will export crude oil to 12 African countries.

It will provide 36% of the refined oil needed in Africa.

It was built in the Ibeju-Lekki region, and its area is 2,635 hectares.

It is estimated that it will generate 21 billion dollars — 9.7 trillion naira — a year

It has 177 tanks, which will hold a total of 4.742 billion liters.

900 engineers have trained abroad in oil refinery work.

It can supply crude oil to other countries in Africa, the Middle East, and the United States.

It meets the standards of the World Bank, the European Union, and the DPR to limit the emission of air pollution.
