A journalist was assassinated in the Cameroonian separatist territory.

A journalist was shot by armed separatists in Bamenda, the capital of the country's northwest, where the English-speaking portion of the country is affected by the violence, according to reports from Cameroon.

According to the Cameroon Journalists Association, at least three media professionals have died in the nation this year.

Journalist Anye Nde Nsoh, the head of The Advocate's Western and North-West desk, was shot and killed at a pub in Bamenda town's Ntarikon district by unidentified assailants. as his coworker Melanie Ndefru, who lives close to the scene of the incident, corroborated.

An attack in the nation's capital Yaounde earlier this year that claimed the life of a radio journalist prompted the United Nations to voice its worry about the state of the media.

Nsoh's death was confirmed by the Cameroon Association of English-Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ), who also demanded an investigation.

The Separatist Zone Nsoh's demise coincided with the 2017 escalation of hostilities between the Cameroonian government and several separatist organizations in English-speaking regions.
