Terungwa Igbe, the chairman of the Benue State National Union of Trade Unions, has urged the state government to pay all outstanding wages and pensions owed to the state's workforce.

Igbe made the call at the state secretariat on Otukpo road rather than the IBB convention center, where workers in the state used to celebrate Labor Day, as he lamented the predicament of workers in the state. each year.

He claimed that due to wage arrears owed to the state government, the employees decided to hold the celebrations privately.

The NLC had also demanded that the retirement age be raised from 60 to 65 years old, from the existing 35 years, and that workers retire at age 40 instead of 60.
