El-Rufai: "I do not want to be named Chief of Staff of the Presidency."

Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna state, has denied the rumors that have been circulating, particularly in the media, that he is vying to become the incoming administration's chief of staff at the presidential residence.

At the inauguration of several significant projects by the state governor, Yahaya Inuwa, Governor El-Rufai made this statement in Gombe.

El-Rufai was invited to launch a few projects that the state government is working on or has already finished by Governor Inuwa.

El-Rufai, however, dismissed rumors that he wants to be named the Tinubu administration's chief of staff when the new government is sworn in on May 29 when speaking with journalists in Gombe town.

I've never had a talk like that with the president-elect, El-Rufai stated. I believe that everybody can help the country flourish, regardless of their position in the government; anyone can help, no matter where they are.

"You only need a break in 22 days when we hand over the government. And let's concentrate on making every possible contribution to the overall development of the nation.

Regardless of where you are, you can make a contribution, no matter how tiny, to advancement.

In the end, El-Rufai offered the Nigerian people the good news that Bola Tinubu would not humiliate them and would not do what I know.
