Early Years

Francisco Muiz IV was born in Wood Ridge, New Jersey, on December 5, 1985. His family went to North Carolina when he was four years old. At age 8, he was found after he played Scrooge in a neighborhood production of A Christmas Carol. Around this time, his parents split up, and Frankie went to live with his mother in Burbank, California. From sixth grade on, he went to school at home so he could focus on his playing career, which was just getting started.

He quickly got small jobs on TV shows, in commercials, and even in the 1999 movie Lost & Found.

Success

Frankie got the job that would make him famous all over the world in 2000. It was the lead role on the TV show Malcolm in the Middle. Between 2000 and 2006, he appeared in 151 episodes of the show with Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston. Muniz became famous overnight for his part as Malcolm, which also got him nominated for an Emmy and two Golden Globes.

Outside of Malcolm, Frankie had small parts on TV and in films, like Paul Giamatti's Big Fat Liar in 2002 and Hilary Duff's Agent Cody Banks in 2003. My Dog Skip (2000, with Kevin Bacon), Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London (2004), and Stay Alive (2006) are some of his other well-known works.

In 2017, Muniz continued to act and also took part in the TV show Dancing with the Stars. He has also been in many Sharknado films for TV. He has won many awards, including Kids' Choice Awards, Young Artist Awards, and YoungStar Awards. Muniz has also been nominated for Golden Globe Awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical, for his work on Malcolm in the Middle in 2001 and 2002.

Racing

As his fame grew, Muniz started to race cars for a living. In 2005, he became a driver for Jensen Motorsport. He then drove in the Formula BMW USA series in 2006 and the Champ Car Atlantic series in 2007. As a race car driver, he took part in 32 Atlantic Championship races from 2007 to 2009.

Pay for Malcolm in the Middle
During the first few years of "Malcolm," Frankie was paid $30,000 per show. This means that the first season will cost $480,000, the second season will cost $750,000, and the third season will cost $660,000. He reportedly made $75,000 per show in the fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons. Over those three seasons, that's $4.95 million. In the last season, each episode of Frankie made her $150,000. That's $3,300,000 dollars. All of Frankie's base pay from the first run of episodes of Malcolm in the Middle added up to about $10.15 million. With union royalty rates, he probably made about 80% of that during the first time the show was shown in reruns.
Frankie also made a lot of money from playing. Probably most famously, he got $2 million for the first Agent Cody Banks movie and $5 million for the second one.
