Ghana: John Mahama will run again
The party members voted on Saturday, and the 64-year-old Mahama got 98.9 percent of the vote.
This is the third time that Mahama will run for president of Ghana. In 2016 and 2020, he came in second place after President Nana Akufo-Addo. During the next election, politics are likely to heat up in the country. while the country's economy is falling apart, which has raised the cost of living and led to revolt.
In 2012, President Mahama, who was then Vice President, took over power in Ghana. He replaced the late President John Atta Mills, who had been in charge before he died. Up until now, the country's leading party hasn't decided on a candidate for president.
