In Ukraine-USA, 20,000 Russian soldiers were killed in five months.
According to the United States, 80,000 Russian soldiers were injured during the five months of fighting in eastern Ukraine, particularly in Bakhmut, and over 20,000 Russian servicemen perished.
Homeland Security spokesperson John Kirby told reporters at the White House that the majority of the victims were Wagner mercenaries.
He continued by saying that despite its best efforts, Russia has failed in its attempts to grab control of crucial Ukrainian territory in the Donbass and Bakhmut.
