Early life and the start of a career

Justin Verlander was born in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, on February 20, 1983, to parents named Kathy and Theodore. Ben is the name of his younger brother. Verlander went to the Richmond Baseball Academy when he was young. There, he showed off his skills by throwing a fastball at 84 miles per hour. He went on to finish high school at Goochland and then college at Old Dominion. He was the starter for the baseball team at Old Dominion for three years.
