Nigeria has finished getting all of its students out of Sudan.
Nigerian authorities have stated that the students from their country who were studying in Sudan and were affected by the fighting between the government forces and the RSF have all been sent home.
This was said by Nigeria's Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Prevention. They worked with the NEMA Emergency Relief Agency and the Nigerian offices in Sudan and Egypt to get the students out of the area.
Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, the Secretary-General of Nigeria's Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Prevention, told the BBC that the students' safety had to be guaranteed before they could be removed.
He said that the flight that came in on Saturday was the 15th and the last one that took Nigerian students to Sudan.
"The first four flights, which carried about 800 students, left from Aswan, Egypt. The next 14 flights left from Port Sudan," he said.
Dr. Gwarzo said that they helped a Nigerian who asked for help in Sudan and had papers with him.
He said that 95% of the people who came are students who are learning in Sudan. 95 percent of the people who came are students in Sudan. Dr. Gwarzo said, "We were late getting the students because of a problem we had with the bus owners."
But he said that during this time, no country has been able to get as many people as Nigeria.
Dr. Gwarzo said that they talked with the country's Ministry of Education about how the students' studies were going. He said that the Ministry sent them a plan to write down the names of the students so that they could see if there were any ways to help the students.
