The NDC has picked Mahama as its candidate for the Ghana elections.

John Mahama, Ghana's former president, has been chosen by the main opposition party, the NDC, to run for president in Ghana's general election next year.

John Mahama was named the winner of the party election on Sunday. He got 98.9% of the votes cast in the election on Saturday.

John Mahamaya beat his opponent, Kojo Bonsu, who used to be the mayor of Kumasi.

Dr. Kwabena Dufour, the third candidate in the election, dropped out because he said he had done something wrong with the way the election was run.

After he won, Mr. Mahama put a message on his Twitter page asking the party to work together.

This is the third time Mr. Mahama is running for office since Nana Akufo-Addo, the current president, beat him in 2016 and won the election. Nana Akufo-Addo's term will end in 2016.

John Mahama is a politician who was Vice President and then President after the death of John Evans Atta Mills, who was President at the time.

He ran for office in 2012 and won, but he only got one term in office before losing in 2016.
