Sudan crisis: The Minister of Foreign Affairs was invited by the Nigerian House of Representatives
Geoffrey Onyeama, the minister of foreign affairs, and other top officials involved in the repatriation of Nigerians who were impacted by the crisis in Sudan will meet with the Nigerian House of Representatives.
The National Emergency Relief Agency (NEMA) and the Nigerians Abroad Administration (NIDCOM) are among the representatives, according to House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila.
"Sudan has been embroiled in conflict for the past few weeks, and this conflict has, in short, affected Nigerians living in the country," he continued.
The speaker of the parliament declared, "Plans have been made to ensure the repatriation of our citizens, including students, businesspeople, and other professionals, without wasting time."
"I have asked the chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs to invite the minister of foreign affairs, officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Nigerian Nationals Abroad (NIDCOM) to the House of Assembly so they can give a discussion on the current state of affairs surrounding the evacuation of citizens from Sudan.
According to Mr. Gbajabiamila, the council is aware of the challenges involved in removing citizens from Sudan.
