The court granted bail to the school teacher who abused the 9-year-old girl for 50,000 naira
A school teacher, Aderonke Makonde, was found guilty of beating her 9-year-old student by a court in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Wednesday. She was given bail for 50,000 Naira.
Makonde, a 35-year-old teacher at Westgate Land Imperial School in Mushin, has been charged with hitting a student by the state police.
Makonde denied committing the crime.
Kehinde Ajayi, the police officer who filed the case, said Makode hit the student and hurt her body.
Ajayi said that the girl's teacher told her that she got in trouble because she was too loud in class.
Judge Mrs. E. Kubeinje said that Makonde will bring two witnesses to court who will say that they pay taxes to the Lagos state government and give the court their right address.
On June 7, the trial will go on.
