Akpabio and Barau Jibrin met with Katsina Governor
Senators Godswill Akpabio and Barau Jibrin, who are in charge of the senators APC wants to be President and Vice President of the Senate, went to see Aminu Masari, who is leaving his job as Governor of Katsina State.
The two senators and other important people, such as Senators Solomon Oamilekan of Lagos, Opeyemi Bamidele of Ekiti, and Yusuf Yusuf of Taraba, paid him a visit.
When they went to see Governor Masari on Sunday, they asked for his help to make sure that the APC's request for Akpabio and Jibrin to become Senate Presidents is met.
Many senators didn't want to accept Akpabio and Barau Jibrin, but the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, explained why Tinubu was so set on Akpabio being senate president.
Kashin Shettima, the Vice President-elect, told them why the APC, Tinubu, and he made them decide to accept Godswill Akpabio as the President of the Senate.
He said that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, had given it a lot of thought and decided that a Muslim should not be the President of the Senate.
Shettima told Tajuddeen Abbas and his team when they came to see him on Friday that it wasn't necessary to say that the President, Vice President, and Speaker of the House of Representatives are all Muslims and that the President of the Senate is also a Muslim.
He also said that Tinubu won't make the same mistakes that Jonathan and Buhari did.
