 Turkey executes 'IS leader'

According to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish intelligence forces have located and murdered Abu Hussein Al-Qurashi, the commander of IS.

Al Qurashi was slain in Syria on Saturday, according to Mr. Erdogan, who also claimed that Turkish intelligence personnel had been looking for him for some time in an interview that was broadcast at the start of a news program sponsored by the Turkish government.

According to reports, the Turkish army conducted a raid on the northern Syrian town of Jandaris on Saturday night, during which explosions were heard.

After making this assertion, Erdogan did not go into further detail about the killing, and Al-Qurashi's demise has not been independently verified.
