We will not withdraw new money from the people - CBN
Rumours that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is considering withdrawing the new 200, 500, and 1,000 naira notes have been refuted.
The bank referred to the rumours as "baseless" in a statement released through its acting director of publicity, AbdulMumin Isa.
According to the bank, current usage will continue to be made of both the old and new bills.
He further stated that the nation's currency-producing facility still sends fresh currency notes to the bank.
According to his statement, the funds will be utilised up to December 31 before being taken out of the neighbourhood.
