Ukraine says there are no signs that Wagner's troops are leaving Bakhmut.
The head of the mercenary business Wagner said that he would pull his troops out of the battle in Bakhmut. The Ukrainian army said that the mercenaries were still holding the city and that they were being sent to help them.
Hanna Maliar, who is Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister, said that Russia is now moving its troops from other places to where Wagner's troops are in Bakhmut.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Wagner's mercenary group, was quoted in a video message as saying that his fighters are going to leave Bakhmut because they are going to be in a fight.
He said that some country officials are putting off sending weapons to his soldiers in the field, even though they know that they have decided to take over the city of Bakhmut on May 9, which is the same day that Russia will hold a parade to celebrate the end of World War II.
Prigozhin said that there weren't enough weapons, but Ukraine said that they fired 520 gun shells on Saturday alone. He said that he wanted to protect the way that his troops were being killed without any reason.
