DSS Begins to Invite Close Entities of EFCC Chairman, Bawa After Searching His Office and House

Officers from the Internal Security Service (DSS) looked into Abdulrasheed Bawa's home and office in Abuja. Bawa is the suspended Chairman of the Economic Fraud Commission (EFCC).

The PUNCH newspaper has found out that the secret police force has also asked close friends of Bawa who work for the EFCC to answer questions about corruption, theft, and misuse of assets sold by the EFCC.

But when Dr. Peter Afunanya, a spokesperson for the DSS, was asked for comment on Wednesday, he said, "There is no comment at this time."

Bawa is being held at the "Yellow House" of the DSS in Abuja. He is being charged with treason against his job as head of the EFCC.

The Abuja newspaper PUNCH heard that a check was done at his Gwarinpa home in front of his family on Saturday.

A reliable source said that on Saturday, a team from the DSS also searched Bawa's office.
