How the Guardian of the Bride Steals Dowry in Kano

A new bride's marriage agent is accused of stealing her dowry just before the wedding took place in a mosque in the Kurna neighbourhood of the Dala local government in Kano state.

According to reports, individuals who took part in the marriage were left in the mosque as they awaited their nuptials, but surprise, the dowry vanished.

Sunusi Dan Mamman, a Kurna neighbourhood resident, claimed that following a protracted wait, the wedding guests decided to search the mosque in an effort to find the dowry.

He revealed that during their inquiry, they discovered the dowry in the groomsman of the bride, who admitted he was unaware of how it got into his pocket.

He claims that after the dowry was found, the guardian was ejected from the mosque since he was ineligible to represent the bride, and one of his younger brothers was chosen to do so.
