Students Freed 6 Prisoners in Suleja Prison

Six students from Abuja's Jewel Leading Light Academy paid their fines to release the six Suleja Prison convicts.

The group of six students, all second-year seniors (Dave Falade, Otse Unogwu, Ife Atilola, Zachary Abu, Ugomsinachi Okoronkwo, and Nathan Oyinlola), chose to support the cause.

On Tuesday, the students went to the prison and posted 120,000 Naira as bond to free the six inmates.

They also brought a lot of supplies to some of the center's inmates.

The students explained how they chose the prisoners: "We have given cash aid up to 120,000 naira, along with paying fines to some prisoners who have shown good behaviour and sacrifice."

"We decided that in this project, we will focus on collecting money and equipment to support our brothers who are in prison," the children, who range in age from 11 to 12, stated.

"Society frequently forgets and disregards inmates. We have resolved as a group that we will make people in our society who are forgotten happy.

They said that they raised the funds by asking friends and family to donate money and selling a few products at school.
