Bello Matawalle, the previous governor of Zamfara State, was condemned by the current governor, Dauda Lawal Dare, for disappearing with the state government's fund completely.

Shortly after taking the oath of office to become the new governor of the state, he voiced this critique at the exhibition platform in Gusau.

After taking over the state's administration from Bello Matawalle, the previous governor, Dare emphasized that he had not discovered even a single kandala.

He stated: "I want to inform the people of Zamfara state that I have not even inherited one kundala from the state government fund and that I have also inherited billions of naira in debt."

In light of the state's current predicament, he urged the residents to exercise more patience and support their government.

In order to win their support, Dare pledged to keep the promises he made throughout the campaign, particularly those related to security, education, employment, health, and the advancement of agriculture.

In his words, "With God's permission, I have come to save the state from its current situation, and I can try my best to bring the state to a safe place."

The EFCC has identified Matawalle as the individual it is hunting for in connection with the allegation of 70 billion naira, according to leadership.

Neither Matawalle nor Hassan Nasiha, his deputy, were present for the swearing-in event.

Since his defeat in the election, Matawalle has been traveling.
