Julius Maada Bio has again won the presidential election of Sierra Leone

Samura Kamara of the All People's Congress (APC) lost to him. Kamara got 41.16 percent of the vote.

The Sierra Leone Electoral Commission has said that President Julius Maada Bio won the presidential poll that took place on Saturday.

The head of the commission, Mohamed Konneh, announced the results on Tuesday in Freetown, the country's capital. He said that President Bio of the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) got 56% of the votes.

Samura Kamara of the All People's Congress (APC) lost to him. Kamara got 41.16 percent of the vote.

Mr. Kamara, a former minister of foreign affairs, called Monday's poll results a "midday armed robbery" after he announced the results.

Foreign monitors said there were mistakes in the way the votes were counted because the election was held in a crowd.

In 2018, Julius Maada Bio became the first person to win the presidency.
