Nissi, the sister of Burna Boy, casts doubt on Davido's 'new cat' remark.
After the well-known musician Davido made some comments about her brother in a recent interview, Nissi, the sister of the Grammy-winning act Burna Boy, gave the popular singer a subtle dig in the ribs.
On Thursday, Davido shared his thoughts on the plethora of stars in the Nigerian music industry, adding that he and fellow act Wizkid were the first young Nigerian singers to become recognized. Davido made his comments during an interview.
The singer known for the song "Unavailable" continued to mention Burna, along with Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake, and he referred to all of them as "new cats." This is a term that many people assume refers to upcoming musicians.
"Everybody knows now. I was one of the first people to do it. It feels wonderful to watch new cats like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, you know a lot of new cats coming, killing it, Asake who was on my album, and we were one of the first young musicians to blow up. Wizkid and I were one of the first young artists to achieve mainstream success.
