Monday, President Bola Tinubu tried to make Nigerians feel better about the pain they are going through because fuel handouts have been taken away in recent days.
In a statement he gave on June 12 for Democracy Day 2023, the President said that he took the decision to end fuel subsidies at his inauguration on May 29, 2023, to keep Nigeria from getting into a tough situation. so that a few people who don't care about their country can steal its riches.
He asked Nigerians to give up a little more so that the country could grow.
Democracy Day is celebrated every year on June 12 to remember the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, who won the presidential election held on June 12, 1993, and other heroes who gave their lives. Their job is to make sure democracy works.
