 Sweden has let the burning of the Koran go on even though there is a disagreement about whether or not it should join NATO.

The Swedish police said that they have given protesters the chance to burn the Koran outside the Stockholm Mosque on Wednesday, which is the day of Eid prayers.

Sweden and Finland left a group they had been a part of for a long time last year. This happened at the same time as the war between Ukraine and Russia, so they could join NATO and feel safer.

Sweden wants to join NATO between July 11 and 12. Other countries, like the US, are in favor of this, but Turkey and Hungary are not.
