 Ukraine is planning to start producing weapons

About 16 months into the war in Ukraine, the government in Kyiv has said that it wants to start making its own guns and ammunition.

President Volodymyr Zelensky told the National Assembly that the country's troops will always be armed. This was said on Constitution Day when the country was celebrating.

Right now, Ukraine is getting arms from Western Europe, like tanks and missiles. President Zelensky said that Ukraine will get the tools it needs to be able to stand on its own. He said that the country has already started making the most stable drones in Europe.

Ukraine used to sell more weapons than any other country in Europe.
