The court has fired Peter Obi's attorneys for wasting time during the hearing.

The LP candidate Peter Obi's attorneys have received criticism from the Presidential Electoral Appeals Court for squandering time and delaying the hearing of the election appeal.

The incident took place the day after the court issued a warning to the attorneys about potential repercussions for their Thursday hearing adjournment request.

Due to the time wastage they caused during the appeal hearing against President Bola Tinubu's victory in the February 25 election, the court on Thursday conveyed its disapproval to the attorneys for LP and Peter Obi.

The five justices of the court, who are all appointed by Chief Justice Haruna Tsammani, expressed their displeasure with their attorneys' inability to arrange the required procedures for calling witnesses in court.

This occurred the day after Peter Obi's attorneys requested an adjournment because one of them was ill and unable to appear in court.

The court was very frustrated with the attorneys when the hearing picked back up on Thursday because they had not explained how to present the facts and witnesses to the court.

This caused the court to take a brief break so that the attorneys for Awa Kalu could evaluate the procedure for presenting evidence, witnesses, and evidence in court.

The court added that the copies provided by their attorneys are inaccurate once the hearing resumed. Additionally, they failed to comply with the court's requirements.

When the case came before the court, the judges instructed LP and Peter Obi's attorneys to request an adjournment of the hearing so they could arrive, sit down, and get ready to follow the court's instructions on the introduction of witnesses and evidence.

Lawyers were informed by Miss Bolaji-Yusuf, one of the court's judges, that what they were doing was wasting the court's time.

"Well, we did nothing today. We've just lost your time. It's a really difficult process because of the way you provided your evidence copy. Both you and the court can become confused as a result.
