The Nigerian government spends only 6,700 naira on health care for every citizen - Bill Gates

Bill Gates, who is in charge of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is worried that the government does not care about Nigerians' health.

Bill Gates made this statement at the Enhancing Lives of Creative Youth Conference in Lagos, Nigeria, on Wednesday.

He said that each person in Nigeria only spends $10 per year on health care.

On Wednesday, the exchange rate for 10 dollars was 6,900 Naira.

He said that because there are so many smart young people in Nigeria, the government needs to step up and spend more money on health care.

"It might surprise you to hear that Nigeria spends only $10 per person per year, while other countries in sub-Saharan Africa spend up to $31 per person per year.

He said that young people are the building blocks and bases on which countries are built. So, Nigeria shouldn't mess around with the young people.
