The Prayer Ceremony Fintiri and Atiku Conducted in Adamawa
In order to worship, the governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, joined hundreds of other Muslims in Yola's largest Eid square.
Senior government officials, business leaders, former vice president Atiku Abubakar, barista Auwal Tukur, and others also participated in the prayer.
The head imam of the Modibbo Adamawa mosque, Khadi Ahmadu Bobboi, gave a speech on the origins and significance of Eid al-Fitr for the Muslim community following the prayer.
Based on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Bobboi discussed the different kinds of animals that are slaughtered and emphasised the significance of slaughtering healthy animals.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the minister for Adamawa, congratulated the Muslim community on Salah and wished this year's Adamawa pilgrims performing the Hajj in Saudi Arabia success.
He asked the governments and leaders of the community to impart positive and harmonious connections to their underprivileged citizens. He also called on the Muslim community to fear God and learn to live in peace with their relatives.
He voiced his concern over the ongoing miscommunication between farmers and herdsmen in the state and asked them to respect one another in order to bring about peace.
Additionally, he urged the government to pursue proper legal action against the offenders.
He praised the governor for keeping his word to bring about progress for the state's residents and prayed to God to provide him the abilities to carry on his good actions in his second term.
