The Sokoto government is accused of abusing officials of the former state government

Aminu Waziri Tambuwal's former Sokoto State government accuses the current administration of concealing the probe into abuse and political interference.

This comes after the security forces detained a few former commissioners in the pretext of an investigation.

The new administration in Sokoto has established a number of committees to look into the previous administration, including one that will look into how Aminu Waziri Tambuwal's administration auctioned off some of the state's government properties.

However, there have been complaints from the previous administration since the 19-member committee began looking into how Aminu Waziri Tambuwal's administration auctioned off assets, including luxury automobiles and other items.

The BBC was told by Alhaji Isa Bajini Galadanci, the environment commissioner under the previous administration, that the issue with automobile confiscation is not what troubles them; rather, it is how they are treated with contempt and abuse.

"For instance, they arrested the three of us -- the former chief of staff, the former internal security commissioner, and myself -- without our consent," he stated.

"Like me, I had just finished butchering my lamb (Layya), and then there were about five cars and policemen firing in the air. How do you know that someone has killed the president?" The former commissioner remarked, "You are with people in your dignity, come and do this to you.

He said that the state government had defamed, mistreated, and humiliated them despite the fact that they had purchased the vehicles at auction and have paperwork to support their purchase.
