Tinubu removed fuel subsidy, he said it has become history

President Bola Tinubu said that there is no longer any issue of fuel subsidy, because in the 2023 budget there is no mention of the budget in it.

He stated this during his first speech after being sworn in at Eagle Square, Abuja.

Tinubu was sworn in at 10:37 in the morning.

The 2023 budget contains the issue of fuel subsidies that will continue to be paid until June.

Tinubu said the fuel subsidies will be used for the people, such as the construction of land improvement projects, health, education, employment and others.

We appreciate the decision of the outgoing government to remove the fuel subsidy, which the wealthy are increasing with their money, not the poor. Subsidizing fuel is not possible, at this time the government is suffering from a financial crisis.

"Instead of paying fuel subsidies, we will divert the funds to do projects that will benefit the entire community. Like health, education, job creation that will improve the lives of millions of Nigerians," said Tinubu.

Buhari's government said that every month it spends 400 billion naira to pay fuel subsidies.

She tried to withdraw fuel subsidy but later left the matter to Tinubu's administration.
