Water scarcity in Kano: Abba Gida-Gida declared a state of emergency

Because there isn't enough clean drinking water in the state, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has proclaimed a state of emergency.

The governor has given the Kano State Water Board a week to submit their demands and end the state's problem with water scarcity.

This was disclosed by Yusuf when he went to the Challawa water treatment facility on Tuesday night.

He claimed that this is one of the strategies his administration has employed to address the state's water scarcity issue.

The governor complained about the way he acquired equipment at the water treatment facility during the visit, claiming that Kano State's water shortage will soon be a thing of the past.

The governor urged the citizens of Kano to work with him because he promised that the state government will keep the commitments it made during the election campaign.

Sakabu Lawal, the director of the Challawa Water Refinery, explained to the governor that just two of the facility's six water pumps are operational.

Residents of the state have recently complained about how the issue of water scarcity is harming them, according to Aminiya.

If memory serves, the state's drinking water shortage problem has moved outside of the Kano Valley and is now a problem throughout the entire state.
