A young man strangled his mother to death in Ogun

In Ijebu Ode town, Ogun state, a 32-year-old boy named Samson Sikiru strangled his mother to death.

Omotola Odutola, a state police spokesperson, verified the event.

The young man is charged with narcotics trafficking.

When the suspect's younger brother, a guard at the time of their mother's murder, returned to discover their mother dead, he told their neighbours what had happened.

After spending years away from home, Samson visited his mother two weeks ago to celebrate the Great Sallah.

According to Channels TV, the young man was turned over to the police after his neighbours learned that he had slain his mother.

The young man has a mental illness, according to Omotola Odutola, the spokeswoman for the Ogun State Police.

She added that he was repeatedly locked up so he wouldn't injure himself or others.
