Customs Seized Weapons at the Port of Lagos State

On Monday, the Nigerian Customs Service announced that it had confiscated a container containing firearms and ammunition that had been brought into the nation from the United States. The weapons cargo was its route to Nigeria's South Eastern area.

The container was confiscated at Tin-Can port in Lagos, according to Adewale Adeniyi, acting comptroller general of customs, who was speaking in Lagos.

Adeniyi claims that the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), the National Security Service (DSS), and the National Drug Enforcement Administration (NDLEA) collaborated on an investigation that led to the discovery of the weapon container.

According to the Acting Commissioner of Customs, some officials who are in charge of identifying items and bringing them into the nation from the port have been detained in connection with the controversy surrounding this container holding weapons.
