Electricity suppliers in Ghana have called off their planned strike

Ghana's electrical providers have indicated that they will no longer be cutting off the power as of Saturday, July 1.

The Union of Electric Power Companies said Friday night that it has ended the strike after reaching an agreement with the government of the nation on the debts owed to it.

She stated that as of this coming Saturday, she would have to deal with this issue for roughly 8 days in order for the government to make good on its obligation of $1 billion, 980,000.

The government of Ghana is attempting to lower the amount of water it pays for its obligations as a result of the country experiencing the greatest economic crisis in history.

Four-seven percent of Ghana's electricity needs are met by private enterprises.
