Former Commissioner Ganduje has been arrested on allegations of corruption of 1 billion
Injiya Idris Wada Saleh, a former state commissioner of works and head of the road maintenance commission, has been detained by the Kano State Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).
According to reports, the organisation detained the former commissioner for allegedly embezzling $1 billion to rehabilitate Kano roads.
Three additional businesses have been contracted since the beginning: North Stone Construction Company Nigeria Limited, Arfat Multiresources Limited, and 1st Step Construction Limited.
The commission is looking into how this $1 billion was improperly taken out.
She further said that although some roads were listed as having been repaired using the money, no soil was actually poured to do so.
After it was announced that the then-ruling APC party had lost the most recent election, a source within the agency revealed to Freedo Radio that the funds had been released in April of this year.
A paper was discovered directing the release of this $1 billion to these three businesses.
The employees have already begun testifying about how they were instructed to immediately release this money.
