Ganduje is planning to become the interim chairman of the APC
Reports claim that Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, a former governor of the state of Kano, will serve as the APC's acting head.
On Wednesday, 73-year-old Ganduje paid a visit to the presidential palace in Abuja, where he met with Bola Ahmed Tinubu and three other APC-affiliated governors.
According to information published by The Daily Trust, the former governor would be chosen to serve as the national party's acting chairman until the general assembly of the party the following year.
Following the alleged attempt to have him removed, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the former national chairman of the party, presented his letter of resignation on Sunday. Iyiola Omisore, the party's national secretary general, also filed a letter of resignation.
Senator Abubakar Kyari, who was named acting president on Monday, would be replaced by Ganduje. The party's national deputy chairman from the Northern zone is Kyari, a native of Borno state.
