Global Health Corps (GHC) Scholarships 2024
HISTORY GHC-Website_Photo_History Six twenty-somethings who met at the 2008 aids2031 Young Leaders Summit, which was organized by UNAIDS and Google and aimed to include young people in the future of global health, came up with the idea for Global Health Corps. They originated from various backgrounds. Both Barbara and Jenna had been motivated by their experiences volunteering overseas in South Africa and Panama for health organizations. Charlie and Andrew saw many excellent technology professionals seeking to start new careers in health when they were working at Google. At FACE AIDS, a student organization, Dave and Jonny worked.
Aim and Benefits of GHC Africa Scholarships
The Global Health Corps fellowship offers intense leadership development and professional growth in addition to the following:
GHC Scholarships are given a living stipend as item number 1.
2. Professional development funds: During the fellowship year, fellows are eligible to apply for up to $600 from the GHC Professional Development Fund to pursue education or other endeavors that advance their professional development.
3. Completion prize: Fellows are eligible for the $1,500 completion award if they finish the whole fellowship year in good standing and take part in the End of Year Retreat.
4. Housing: Throughout their fellowship year, all fellows are given housing.
5. Health Insurance: Throughout the placement year, all fellows will receive health insurance. The placement company or GHC will arrange health insurance for fellows.
6. Travel: For every GHC training and retreats, GHC arranges or supports all travel logistics for fellows.
7. Visa/Work Permit: International Fellows must have a valid work permit in order to lawfully complete the fellowship in the country of placement. Your placement organization and Global Health Corps will direct you in filling out and submitting an application.
Requirements for GHC Africa Fellowship Qualification
1. Be 30 years or younger.
2. Possess a bachelor's or undergraduate degree from a university.
3. Have a solid grasp of English.
4. Be a resident of Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe, or be a citizen of one of those countries.
