Governor Soludo of Anambra appoints an eight-person team of six professors to review Mmesoma Ejikeme's JAMB score.
Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra state, has put together an eight-person group to look into the case of alleged forgery involving the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Ejikeme Mmesomachukwu, who was thought to have the highest score.
Sir Paul Nwosu, the state's Commissioner for Education, said in a statement that the group would be given its job.
The group is made up of six Professors, a Reverend Sister, and a member from the State.
Prof. Nkemdilim Nnonyelu is the chairman, and Profs. Mercy Okonkwo, Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Maduabuchi Dukor, and Jaja Nwanegbo are also on the board.
Rev. Sr. and Prof. Mary-Felicia Opara are also part of the group. Rev Cannon Dr Uxhenna Umeifekwem and and Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata.
The statement says, "It is important to note that Miss Mmesoma Ejike went to the office of the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, with her UTME result to protest that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) didn't recognize her as the candidate with the highest score.

"When the Commissioner called JAMB to check on Mmesoma's claim, she was told that Mmesoma's score was fake.
"At this point, the people in charge of JAMB asked the Directorate of State Services (DSS) to look into the situation and let them know what they found.
"This hadn't happened yet when JAMB made the matter public, which led to the loud talks we've seen in the news.
"We don't want to get into the fight or pick a side at this point. But because we are a responsible government, we have chosen to look into the matter on our own.In light of all of this, the Anambra State Government has set up a Committee of Inquiry to look into the JAMB-Mmesoma situation in detail.
In the statement, it was said that when the Committee's work was done, the results would be made public.
