INEC doesn't have any witnesses to back up Tinubu's win.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) hasn't started defending itself in the case where Peter Obi is trying to overturn President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's win. This is because witnesses haven't shown up.

Remember that Obi's lawyers and those of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) finished presenting evidence on July 23 against INEC's decision to name Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election on February 25.

In the three weeks that the PEPC gave them, the LP brought 13 witnesses and the PDP brought 27.

The court gave INEC a week to start putting together its defense.

But when the court met again on Monday morning, the lawyers for INEC, led by A.B. Mahmoud SAN, asked for a postponement until Tuesday because one of their witnesses couldn't be there that day.

The lawyers for Obi, Tinubu, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) did not object to the request to end the trial early.

After that, a five-person group of judges led by Justice Haruna Tsammani put the case off until Tuesday.

In response to the press, Obi's legal team, led by Dr. Livy Uzoukwu SAN, said that INEC was not ready to defend the 2023 presidential election.

He said that there are problems with the study and that it doesn't make sense.

"I'm sure they're not ready to protect themselves in this case. Uzoukwu said, "I could be wrong, but I hope they defend this case so that people will come to see more."

The educated silk also said, "I keep saying that we've never had an election like this one."
