JAMB Bars Candidate ‘Who Forged Result’, Releases Fresh Evidence
Due to allegations of falsification, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has banned Ejikeme Mmesoma for three years from sitting for the UTME.
Ejikeme Mmesoma has been prohibited by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) from taking the UTME for three years due to allegations that her 2023 results were forged.
This was said in a statement released on Tuesday morning by Protoco's Head of Public Affairs, Sunday Fabian Benjamin.
The board argued that Miss Ejikeme's result was fake, claiming that it had stopped distributing Notification of Result slips after the 2021 UTME for the obvious reason that applicants were fabricating them. The board had first expressed concern about Miss Ejikeme's result on Sunday.
According to JAMB, the candidate "simply falsified a copy of a result slip of a candidate named "Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle," who sat the UTME in 2021 and scored 138," reassuring "Nigerians that its system was neither tampered with nor compromised."
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is, hereby, restating its prior position that the UTME result being paraded by Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma is blatantly fraudulent. The statement is captioned "Ejikeme Joy Mmesome: We Shall Continue to Serve With Integrity - JAMB."
The candidate merely fabricated a copy of a result slip for a candidate named "Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle," who took the UTME in 2021 and scored 138. As a result, the Board wants to reassure Nigerians that its system was neither tampered with nor compromised.
The candidate accidentally identified the rightful owner of the result she is displaying when she pointed out that the QR code on the result slip identified the owner of the relevant result before she peddled a lie in an effort to obscure the truth, according to the statement.
The general public is advised to try to scan the QR code on the result slip to see its actual owner before it was mutilated in order to see the Board's unchallengeable position on this evident untruth.
It should be emphasised that each candidate's UTME results are contained in the QR code, therefore the information on the result sheet is nothing more than an interpretation of the data contained therein.
Additionally, it should be noted by the general public that the Board discontinued providing Notification of Result slips following the 2021 UTME for the straightforward reason that candidates were fabricating them. As a result, the Board has been providing actual UTME RESULT Slips (rather than notifications of results) complete with each candidate's photograph since 2022.
"Similarly, the public is encouraged to consider the fact that only Ms. Ejikeme Mmesoma parades the out-of-date "Notification of Result" out of all the candidates that took the 2023 UTME.
"The Board is not concerned by this unfortunate development as such bogus allegations have been made in the past. Nigerians are therefore advised to think back on the numerous instances where the Board was sued for billions of naira only for the attorneys to subsequently apologise sincerely for their clients' misadventures. The most notable of these is the case of a candidate named John Chinedu Ifesinachi who, in 2021, threatened to sue the Board for N2 billion in damages. However, he later confessed to his crime in the face of undeniable facts during an open investigation that was observed by several national public institutions, including the Public Complaints Commission, National Human Rights Commission, Federal Competition, and Federal Election Commission.
"This case has thus been properly turned over to the appropriate security services for a thorough investigation to identify the perpetrators of yet another regrettable scam. The candidate, her parent's guardian, and her legal team will be present during the open public session, which will be attended by the agencies mentioned above as well as any pertinent security agencies.Any casual observer would notice with the obviously stage-managed video aired by Ms. Ejikeme that some nefarious elements have an unwholesome interest in the drama as it develops and are essentially determined to prod the candidate on this fruitless path. The Board cautions these confusionists to think again since their sinister plans will soon be exposed.
The Board reiterates its willingness for thorough investigation once more because this case may not be the last instance of such shenanigans. The truth would eventually come out, and the Board would be justified.
